Merel Hoogland

Merel is convinced that arts & culture should be accessible for a large and diverse audience. Her experience with social media in both a commercial and a non-profit organisation, has confirmed for her that focused online communication strategies are essential in this process. As an online marketer it is her goal use this experience in order to contribute to increasing the accessibility of arts and culture.

Merel has a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Studies and a Master’s degree in Artspolicy and management. As part of her studies, she did both an internship cultural entrepreneurship at De Kroepoekfabriek and an internship marketing &communication at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. During her period at the Stedelijk, she examined the social relevance of the museum and analysed opportunities to increase this. She wrote her thesis on the accessibility of contemporary and modern art museums.
