Tonke is specialized in public and experience, which she researched in several qualitative audience researches. Her interest is to understand which aspects influence the audience experience – as well before, during as after their visit – and to use this knowledge in order to develop fitting marketing strategies.
Tonke has a Bachelor degree in Arts and Cultural Sciences for the study program Arts, Culture and Media from the University of Groningen, and a Master degree in Arts and Cultural Sciences for the study program Arts and Culture in the Public Domain from the University of Amsterdam. During her studies she worked (in marketing and communications) at EYE Filmmuseum, Noorderzon Performing Arts Festival and The Daily Indie. For her master thesis she researched the functions of Dutch museums. During this project she conducted a qualitative audience research at EYE Filmmuseum.
