Beam me up, Scotty. Take I

Projection bombing is about projecting blown up images in urban landscapes and was made popular in New York by The Graffiti Research Lab. All you need is a laptop, a battery and of course a projector. Next thursday 13, around 21:00, in front of de Bastaard café it will be tried out with a dutch ingredient: a bakfiets.

Title: Beam me up, Scotty. 
Concept: Bakfiets + Computer + Batteries + Projector

Event was successful! Music and bakfiets were two fundamental keys to success.

• First participants(15) knew about the event (via mail, talk, Website, Flickr);
• Participation and audience quickly grew to Bastaard clients, people passing by and neighborhood (around 30 people);
• Total participants approximately 45 people;

• Participants asked to repeat the project;
• There were a lot of people asking what we were doing; if we do this often; what is it was for; who are we; where could they see what was happening next;
• Bastaard' waitresses were very cooperative (power connection); They even participated in drawings.
• Police showed up, watched at the distance make some phone call and then left.

• Next event in public space we must be very careful with alcohol. In my opinion no one should bring drinks instead they should be bought in the nearest cafe and consumed there. It's easy to have the beamer next to a terrace where it's allowed to consume alcohol. All in all, it's fundamental to avoid to create a bad image with the authorities.
• It is fundamental to have flyers with the website address, such us the ones Bram produced before. (Budget?)
• Events should be announced well in advance and have a clear description;
• There is a problem with our current software (site and mailinglists) users have to make an google account. Solution use other software. Consequences: webhosting space is need (server), this has costs.

• It seems possible to 'sell' the concept to bigger cultural events in Utrecht. We can use the material create during 'Beam me up, Scotty.' to make a concept presentation;
• What cultural events in Utrecht could be interested in such activity?
• When should we do it again?
• Should we apply for a grant to buy a decent beamer, batteries, bakfiets and make this a moving platform?
