Špela Semion

Spela is a cultural marketer with background in (online) marketing communication, culture, media and social sciences. She’s especially interested in service marketing in cultural institutions, which was also the theme of her both degrees.

Spela holds a bachelor degree in communication science from the University of Ljubljana (Bsc.) and a master degree (MA) of Arts&Heritage: Policy, Management & Education from Maastricht University. During her master study she focused on visitor research and carried out two researches for Rijksmuseum and Toneelschuur. For her final project she helped Cultuurmarketing with improving their annual cultural marketing research (Cultuurmarketing Onderzoek 2016) and focused on the questions how Dutch cultural marketeers in the performing arts sector see the task of marketing and whether or not service marketing is applied in the sector. After completing her master, she worked as interim online marketer at the Dutch Railway Museum.
