Susan specializes in scientific research into the uses of new media, followed by users’ expectations and experiences. Her master thesis focuses on the expectations of and experiences with Virtual Reality among museum visitors. This knowledge is valuable for the museums who want to improve this specific medium. With new insights cultural industries can better meet the users’ expectations and needs.

Susan holds a BA degree in History from Utrecht University and a MA degree in Media & Culture from Erasmus University Rotterdam. Combining her two areas of expertise, Susan wrote her master thesis in collaboration with historical museum Het Westfries Museum. Besides the theories of the use of media, she is also interested in the practices of online marketing (SEO, SEA) and helps the PR during the international photography event Unseen in Amsterdam.
